Spooky Arabs

Arabs are very intelligent horses (for a horse:-). Their brains just
need
to have something to do. For hundreds of years they have been taught to
look for the enemy on the sand hills and to never step in water. So, now
on our quiet little jaunts, our wonderful Arabs do the same things for
us
as they did their Bedouin warlords. They look for things that might jump
out and eat us, and they never touch water. Unfortunately, we ignorant
riders just don't understand what a service our faithful horses are
doing
for us.
Of course, we can always train them on what is actually harmful to the
human
and horse. Lots of miles where horse eating monsters are viewed, and
the
horse learns are not really all that bad. And if the horse is just
feeling
good and spooking at whatever comes around, then you work on various
other
training issues to keep the horse's brain occupied.
