I'm sure that John Parkes has informed you that Remmington is not a "pony" he
is an Icelandic Horse. And a pretty awesome one at that! This dog issue is
pretty interesting. My horses are all "dead-broke" to dogs. But what an
unfair handicap to horses that aren't. Hard to believe that a vet would bring
a dog-off leash-- to a ride. Hmmm, maybe that should be part of the criteria
-- how many dogs per second a horse can tolerate? I think more people should
read the entire ride entry before they mail it in. MOST (if not all)say that
any dogs brought along should be controlled at all times. NEVER off leash.
This is a pet-peeve (pardon the pun) of mine since I bring my Jack Russel with
me and would hate to be banned because of the ill-manners of other people
(never the dogs). The bottom line -- if you bring your dog: be considerate,
keep him on a leash and contained at all times -- it is only fair and polite.
