Chromium is a kind of gate-opener to allow insulin to push blood glucose into
the muscle cell. There are others who know a lot more about the chemistry--in
fact, someone in this group, or in horsesci just gave me some good information
as to why chromium yeast might be more effective than pure chromium. I'm going
to have to study this some more. However, as it is, added chromium
polynicotinate greatly enhances the effects of glycogen loading in the horse.
