Consumers reports FDA approval on Laser Glucometer
If we are getting into adding glucometers to our arsenal of things to carry
on an endurance ride, I should like to direct your attention to a report I
read in this month's Consumers Digest. They reported FDA approval of a new
laser meter. The impression I received, is that you point this at your
skin, and it zaps you, with (ideally) less pain than a needle prick. It
picks up the reading from the spot where it zaps a hole in the skin. Sounds
potentially much easier than the prick, drip, catch it on a strip and read
it method. 'Course how much it costs wasn't mentioned. Hopefully we won't
need the entire resources of an insurance company to pay for one. But at
this point, I think I will look for these new ones before investing in an
old one....
