Hello Sarah and any other ridecampers who are curious. I have never fed, or
will ever feed my horse Sam or any other horse I ride CarboCharge, Pro-Burst
or any other concoction that comes along. WHY? Sam has completed 28 100
mile races 25 in the top ten. He is healthy sound and strong - isn't that
enough to ask? I really have enough to do during a race without worrying
if I gave him the proper dosage of special sauce at precisely the right time.
I do not critizise people who use this stuff, its their choice, I choose not
to use it. I like to keep it simple and fun.
My one question during all these discussions, if you have a horse who is
not trained or ready for a particular race and feed him the carbo charge,
will you get a false sense during the race that your horse feels fine and
full of energy, possibly at the risk of injuring their LEGS?
Just to let everyone know USA EAST will be changing their ride date to
March 18 and 19 in Greenbank NJ. We will hold a 50/50 and a two day 100.
I know this is early but years ago we used to all go out to the Hawk ride
near Gettysburg, hopefully I will get some brave soles out early again.
