<< Tom,
I am also diabetic and have found 800 mcg. of chromium picolinate to be
immensely helpful in controlling my blood glucose levels. In conjunction
with carbo counting, I have dropped my blood glucose 60-70 points in the
last 2 weeks. I have also been able to discontinue my medication. >
That's great!

sister, who is on insulin, won't take more than 200 mcg. a day...her
doctor doesn't think it will make a difference but has told her to go ahead
and take one of the ma huang supplements....aaaagggghhhh. What is the
matter with our medical establishment? >
That's one of those "don't ask, don't tell" questions.

learning all about supplementing horses with this stuff...where could one
find it in doses large enough to make a difference with horses? The
largest pills I can find are 400 mcg. Also, isn't it something that should
be a daily supplement, not just given at rides? Thanks.>
Ours is mixed in with the Glycogen Loader and VF's is mixed in with
Carbocharge, by the labs. We're using Chromemate, a patented form of chromium
(polynicotinate) usually found on grocery store shelves under GTF (Glucose
Tolerance Factor).
We just use if for loading days, but there are some studdies suggesting that
long term use is good for athletes--increased lean muscle mass.
