Re: Long holds, Heart Rate, tying up, electrolytes
Tom,
I am also diabetic and have found 800 mcg. of chromium picolinate to be
immensely helpful in controlling my blood glucose levels. In conjunction
with carbo counting, I have dropped my blood glucose 60-70 points in the
last 2 weeks. I have also been able to discontinue my medication. My
sister, who is on insulin, won't take more than 200 mcg. a day...her
doctor doesn't think it will make a difference but has told her to go ahead
and take one of the ma huang supplements....aaaagggghhhh. What is the
matter with our medical establishment? Anyway, I am very interested in
learning all about supplementing horses with this stuff...where could one
find it in doses large enough to make a difference with horses? The
largest pills I can find are 400 mcg. Also, isn't it something that should
be a daily supplement, not just given at rides? Thanks.
