Alright guys, need your help. I've been instructed to write an article
on riding solo. Since that's usually something that comes up on
individual rides and there's no AERC rules for it....just what usually
*are* the rules?
I know you're not supposed to have any outside help. That means if you
throw a shoe, you can't use the ride farrier. You can't have a crew
deliver food...
Can you let your horse steal other peoples stuff at the vet check like
usual? >g< I've heard you can only use the hay put out by management at
away checks, but does that mean you don't let your horse drag you over to
somebody else's stuff...or pick up hay dropped in the vet line?
What if you come up on buckets set out on the side of the trail? Would
you actually *make* your horse pass up water if he needed it?
Can anybody tell me any good stories...like problems having to hold your
horse's reins while on the porto-john...how about some other examples?
I remember that Mary Koefod (sp?) rode solo in her ROC wins... and that
OD has a cavalry division.... gotta be some stuff out there I can use.
:-)
Angie
