Q. about a cramp vs. tying up
Is there just a matter of degree between a cramp/tight muscle and tying
up? Or is there actually a clinical difference between the two? And if
so when does a cramp turn into tying up?
For example, you're at a ride on a cold/wet/windy day (not that I've
ever been to any like that....just heard of them<g>) and when you see
the vet he says your horse is a little tight in one or both back legs,
probably from standing in line, all other parameters okay and he says
hit the trail.
What is actually going on there versus when a horse goes into a full
blown, walks with a shortened stride, pulled from a ride, tie up?
