VFA's are "at large" in the circulation and have just as much opportunity to
get into a well perfused muscle and into its cells as they do into any other
cells in the body. One aspect of fitness is better perfusion of muscle, so
ALL substrates have a better opportunity of reaching the cellular
level--carbs, VFA's, or anything else that will fit into the Krebs cycle.
VFA's are relatively small molecules compared to other fatty chains.
