<< OK, Tom-- I've been following The Great Debate and have a question. Throughout the discussion, you keep saying that elevated glucose will inhibit uptake of fats. Are you referring specifically to FFA and VFA here or lipids generically? I wasn't aware that cell uptake of VFA was *ever* inhibited. Paula >> I'm talking about muscle uptake, not mitochondrial uptake. I believe that VFAs behave the same way as other fats at the muscle membrane. Happy to be wrong and be educated, though. ti =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
