The same kind of double-shuffle was used in the discussions over the
non-member fees. It was claimed the non-members were costing the AERC
money to process, that the non-member feee was needed as a
"bookkeeping fee." But the figures I ran showed that the normal
per-rider sanction fee MORE than covered the cost to the AERC office
of processing the ride results. The non-member fee is pure gravy,
paying for member services (or Doyle's salary?).
