Your thinking is good. Fat is deposited only when the muscle cells are
stuffed to capacity with glycogen and you have leftover carbohydrate. Fat
does not produce fat, even when it's overloaded.
As far as water storage is concerned, I believe that for every pound of
glycogen stored, 2 pounds of water is stored with it. I don't know about fat.
