I'm having the same problem with Blaze. He's a peach at home when I (or a
student) put on his bridle with the bit attached but a real *pill* when we
go out on the trails and I try to put *just* the bit and bit hangers on
with the halter part already on. He throws his head up and acts like a
total toad...and I know it's because of the difference in the control I
have when dealing with a bit a couple of short straps. I've tried clipping
on one side and coming at it from that angle, but that was worse. I'd
appreciate any secrets anyone has for making it a smooth job...so would
Blaze! ;-)
