Well it sounds like a good set up you have on your horse now.The snow rim
pads are kinda expensive even for the farrier.The ones I use on the horses I
do run about 10 dollars a pair or 20 a horse my cost.Your farrier is probably
adding a bit because they are a bit of a pain to work with at times.I would
suggest keeping the rim snow pads and maybe going with a drive in carbide
studs.(Mustad makes them) There are several different styles to choose from
and you can get the screw in if you like.There is less labor in drilling and
driving or tapping than sweating carbide on.Your still looking at around
$120.00 to shoe one all the way around in this way.Not sure what you were
paying before so I don't know if it would sayou any money or not.My ever
humble thoughts.RD
