I'm no expert on Egyptian lines, so can't help you with the rest of the
pedigree, but Antezeyn Skowronek was an Abu Farwa son, and among Abu Farwa
sons, was the leading sire of show champions, back in olden times. He was
straight CMK--his dam Sharifa was by Antez (Davenport), and out of Ferdith
(Kellogg). Despite Antezeyn Skowronek's success as a sire, when his lines
were not the "fad," his sire line very nearly disappeared. We are proud to
own and stand one of only about half a dozen stallions left in existence who
trace to Antezeyn Skowronek in direct sire line--his grandson Don Cesar, who
is straight Carleton Cummings breeding. Don Cesar (affectionately known as
"Cinders") has some of the best feet and legs you will find on a horse
anywhere--short cannons, great bone, big round symmetrical feet. He's a
deep-bodied, solid little guy, and we are really looking forward to seeing
what he will produce. CMK breeder Rick Synowski (who is one of the best
acquainted with Antezeyn Skowronek horses and the Carleton Cummings Skyline
program) found Cinders on Vancouver Island last summer, and we are thrilled
that he has entrusted him to us. Cinders is 24, but is hale and hearty.
Rick and I each got one mare in foal to him this summer, and plan to use him
even more next year.
Well, didn't mean to go on and on--but Antezeyn Skowronek was truly a
wonderful old horse...
