Loading "other things" in the trailer beside your horse
Actually, I have carried my husband's bicycle in the other side of my
two-horse straight load trailer a few times. Years ago we modified the
inside by installing flush-mounted eye bolts here and there so that when
I take my PVC fence panels, they ride upright on the right and horse on
the left. Everything is securely fastened by several bungee cords at
top rails and bottom, and hooked onto the eye bolts. I've even secured
a porta-pottie underneath the lower rail so it rides in the trailer and
it stays put. ( With a short-bed truck, I'm always short of space.)
I'd better clarify that I do not load both fence panels and bicycle
at the same time...there is no room. This is only when the panels stay
home. When the bike goes in, it is practically welded to the side of the
trailer and there is no way it can shake loose. Cheers (;-), Connie
