I had a 10 year old mare (NOT raised by me) that would every now and then for no apparent reason, pull back like her life depended on it. I used the belly rope trick and it worked great..after a few months, I just laid a rope over her back and she thought she had the belly rope on. Smart lady, tho....she knew what was behind her and NEVER pulled back if something large was back there... Teddy kmhicks1@juno.com wrote: > "I found a good way to help teach a horse NOT to pull back.
