We have a person in our exclusive Almaden area who takes the cats, kills and 
mutilates them and then leaves their bodies [or parts thereof] on the owners 
lawn.  The count is up to about 18 or so and I think the reward is getting 
close to $20,000.  The police are really on top of this because they are 
afraid of what happens when small defenseless pets are not fun to torture 
anymore.....mb
