Yep, because in the "old days" (until a couple of years ago) all we had were
injectable strangles vaccines. The new intranasal vaccine is much safer and
has a higher efficacy rate--still not 100% but at least well up into the
90's. And with its availability, it IS, IMO, worthwhile to vaccinate for
strangles if you are involved in any sort of public activity (including
endurance and CTR) with your horse.
