RE: Horses and deer

I beg to differ. While I love the deer and elk herds that grace out yard
all winter (I counted 38 elk within a 100 yd. radius one morning), that
exposure also also subjects them to DEER LICE that like to hop onto your
horses. Lice can suck enough blood out of your horse to make them drop
about 100 lbs. in a week and can kill the horse if not treated. They look
like miniscule grains of rice squirming in and out of the hair. eeebie
geebies....
Nasty little buggers - you need to douse the horse with Coral (wearing
gloves and not breathing) then repeat the process 3 weeks and 6 weeks
later. Yetch.
Just something to watch for...
