I would try making the rattle noise when she eats, or leaving a tape
running on real low to get her used to the noise.
I had just the opposite problem riding yesterday. We were about five
miles out when I saw a snake crossing the road. I pulled up so it could
finish without us, but Chandra did not want to stop. I am not sure she
even saw it (not a rattlesnake), but I don't see how she couldn't see it
(5' slithering accross the road in broad daylight!). A car passed us
while we were deciding whether or not to pass and almost ran over the
snake, so I compared the snake to the width of the car to estimate size.
I finally gave in to her and let her pass. Just after the snake she
jumped like there was a troll hiding under the culvert. Go figure!
