What is a "milage bucket" anyway?

In trying to imagine what "milage" is, I come up with visions of some hi-tech 
form of silage, made from some particular sort of feed--maybe milo?  

And--oh, I got it--a "milage bucket" is what you carry it around with and use 
to feed it to the horse!
