I was the GM for several dressage schooling shows in this area for a couple
of years...and, you are right, schooling shows are just that...schooling
shows. And NO, they DO NOT count towards points accumulated with USDF OR
the state organization (here it's the WSH.) They are viewed at "practice"
rides and the scores will never appear anywhere...it's as if you never rode
them in the eyes of the state or national organizations. This is a relief
to many who are either starting out themselves or they have green horses
that are just starting out and they don't want any lower scores they may
get due to being totally green to show up on any permanent record. This is
the attraction of the schooling shows! They don't count towards anything
except experience...a "getting ready" to ride, often the EXACT same test,
in a sanctioned show.
