"It's the riding, not the records." Thanks superpat.
If the AERC stopped keeping mileage records tomorrow, I choose to think that
most of us would still be out there riding. Weren't we riding long before
there was an AERC to keep records? Weren't we filling up the Tevis Cup Ride
and the Race of Champions on the years their mileage didn't count because
they were not sanctioned? Sure I like to look at my mileage records. I have
a bunch. But if record keeping stopped tomorrow, it wouldn't slow me down a
bit. I'd still be riding AERC rides because I know what rules would apply.
I am sure there are legions of endurance riders out there who feel as I do.
