I have been at rides where there was a horse with a mechanical gait
aberration. SOP is for all the ride vets to see the horse at the vet in,
and observe the movement.

When evaluating for lameness, so long as the horse holds one gait and
doesn't mix them during the "trot" out, it's usually fairly easy to
determine lame vs. sound.
