Re: Reaction to Vaccine
Titers measure antibody response. But vaccines also operate through a second
mode of cell mediated response and this is not measured by antibody titers.
The only specific vaccine that I have seen much data on is rabies, where
challenge tests have established a reasonable reliability of titers. Perhaps
someone else had more information on this issue.
One other point is that vaccines do not all have the same effective life -
each one has to be evaluated independently.
