My boyfriend uses one of my horses for civil war re-enacting and he uses one
of these cap guns to get them used to the noise. then works up to bigger
weapons.

Yes, absolutely, best to condition the horse to the noise, we used to have
some in the old days we could hunt off of, we stuffed their ears with foam
from hair rollers to save their hearing, big guns were used, but a 22 cal.
semi-auto would not be as traumatic. I would stuff the ears if I were in an
iffy situation just in case, could save you a long walk home !!!! Sherrie
