Re: Endurance & REining
The only potential conflict I see is that for reining, you will want to
concentrate more on the fast twitch muscle groups (particularly the
rear-end). It would be difficult to pursue both sports with the intent to
top-10 AND go to the QH Congress. OTOH, I think mixing it up is good for
the horse (like Diane said). Reining isn't referred to as "Cowboy Dressage"
for no reason. Flexibility, responsiveness, balance, relaxation...all those
things are important elements and translate into really wonderful all-around
training no matter what you end up doing.
I say go for it... just recognize training/conditioning conflicts when you
see them and make your decisions accordingly.
