Anyone try the mountain bike lights? I have a rechargable one called a
Nite-Rider that's halogen with 2-4 hour capacity. :-) You can highbeam
cars with that sucker - it's that bright. I wasn't sure, though, if you are
better off *not* lighting the way for your horse... You know how hard it is
to see in the dark after you've been in the light. Thought maybe he'd be
more spooked because he couldn't see as well. You can get an attachment to
put the light on your helmet. The battery pack is connected by a long
cable, so luckily it doesn't have to sit on your head, too. ;-)

Anyway, thanks for the thread on this topic. It's got me interested in
extending my riding hours into the night. Now I just need one of those neat
riding jumpsuits with reflectors on it from Iceland to keep out the winter
chill... And Linda has me thinking a deer whistle mounted on my fenders
might be good (cause we're sooo fast, y'know).
