Well Bob I sure aint no angel either, and I am not entirely critical of the EN,
but for $40 a year I think they can and should do better. If it was optional I
would drop EN and subscribe to trailblazer, since its not I guess I need to do
both. EN is better this year than last year IMNTBHO but back in 96 I got a lot
more out of it And I do not recall seeing ANY invitations for folks to send in
articles of any kind to EN anywhere in the magazine. I've greatly enjoyed
reading ride stories on RC and it doesn't take special qualifications for
someone to write one, I'm sure EN would get some good ones if they asked. I'd
love to see some humorous excerpts like "you know your an endurance rider if you
have splint boots instead of panty hose drying in your bathroom" and I know of
3 letters (1 by me) that were submitted and never printed. Mine was not even
acknowledged. I was raising some points against the 0-49 by-law last year
before the election. So don't tell me that EN is short on content because they
cant find any -they are not looking for any. Guess I'm in the minority but I'd
trade the fancy color pics for the meatier magazine they used to put out when I
first joined AERC, and while its nice to have all the ride results printed I
don't see the need for them to be printed twice. Guess I'm in the minority
again but they are the least sections of both my EN and my yearbook.
