Personally Maggie, I figure the fee is for semen and the effort the
stallion owners put into the breeding process, not for what mare is
involved.  I think grade mares (or non-purebred Arabs) should pay *more*
rather than less if there is any price difference at all, but we stopped
doing the price difference thing pretty early on.  If you were breeding
for the show ring, that might be a different story, though.  Lif
