Carla;
That was darn funny: "where the men are men and the sheep are scared" Hey,
if he wore them in a band why would the thought of tights bother him now? I
used to have the same problem with wearing them but after a few weeks of
saddle sores from wearing jeans all the time, I figured that the sport was
not going to adjust to me, I had to adjust to the sport. I even wear a
riding helmet now, something I thought I'd never do before.
Just go slow, he'll figure it out. And maybe, after seeing a lot of us "men"
at the rides wearing tights (I prefer the term riding pants), he might
reconsider his position on them. If you go with the low key colors (beige or
off white) it doesn't draw that much attention. Now if you go with the
colors that some of the women wear (flaming red, loud paisley, glow in the
dark green) he might get more attention than he, or you, can handle.
BTW, boxers are definitely OUT. For the sake of your future children I would
 avoid them totally on a horse.
Hope this helps,
Howard
