I have a VCR tape called "Long Distance Riding, A Training Guide for
Competitive and Endurance Riding" which includes an excellent pre-ride
talk by Dane Frazier.  I would recommend the tape to any newbie in the
sport (and maybe even some experienced riders would enjoy it).  I
believe it is a Farnum tape.
