RE: Re: Educating the newbie
Where are these clinics, and when are they held? How do newbies find
out about them? I'm in the SE region, and I've never heard of these
clinics. I would love to take part in something like this to settle
my nerves before my first ride (still many moons away at this point).
I think the main problem for newbies is not the lack of information -
there is plenty of good sources of information out there (ridecamp
esp.), but the lack of knowledge about where to go to GET the
information. I know getting the word out takes money, but a small ad
in local equine publications might do a lot to get people who have
been curious involved.

In our region (SE) there are at least two rookie clinics a year. Ask
around. I'd like to think that every area has these to help all the people
that are thinking about getting into our sport.
