RE: Half-Chaps
I can't be the only person on Ridecamp who has one calf a full inch larger
than the other.
I use the suede half-chaps with four large velcro tabs each. Only problem
is that I needed to have the stitching reinforced because the quality of
construction was not great.
Of course, they're all smooth and shiny on the inside of each calf, but I
don't know any other style that would work for me.

Synthetic-suede half-chaps from Ariat work well with a small carabiner
affixed to the zipper-pull to give more leverage, since they zip from
the ground up. Ariats won't sag like some soft suede models and they
don't get stiff when wet. You can hose 'em off after riding and they'll
look like new every time. They're quite light, and the ribbed design
gives nice leg support. They can be quite snug, however, so if you like
a looser or adjustable fit, you may want to stick with one of the other
models mentioned.
