Hurricane Floyd advice wanted
OK, here's the situation: Our Amber lives with her husband, 2 kids,
various dogs & 2 horses in St. Augustine, FL, approximately half way
between Jacksonville & Daytona Beach. The hurricane is forecasted to go
right up the coast past her sometime between tomorrow night and
Wednesday a.m.
The catch is that they don't have a horse trailer. (Frustration! We've
got two, but we're here and she's there!) Her husband says that all he
can think of is to put one of his hunting dog's radio tracking collars
on each of the horses' halters & turn them loose. That doesn't sound
right to me, but they can't leave them in the barn - it's old & only has
a tin roof which will probably go right away, and the walls right
after. I'm blanking out here, and can't think of what they could do!
Anyone have any great advice? (I have a feeling if the horses survive
this, Amber will be buying a trailer real quick!) Lif
