I remember one time talking with a vet (who has become our head vet for
Swanton Pacific). He had a stallion in his vet barn for an obscure facial
paralysis (1/2 of the face was paralyzed, the other half was OK.). I said,
"What an awful looking horse (poor quality, not just because of the face). I
couldn't imagine why anyone would keep him a stallion." The vet, who has a
great sense of humor said, "Why not? The horse wouldn't have made a good
gelding so the owners might as well leave him a stallion!" I loved his
response.
