Fast twitch and Quarter Horses

Have to agree with you on that one Barb.  It took much longer for my QH to 
reach fitness then my Arabs.  Now he has a fantastic resting heart rate (28) 
and recoveries as good as any Arab.  However, once fit he maintained as well 
as they do and even after a lay off comes back very quickly.  The tradeoff 
for me has been the steadiest ride I have ever known which, as I get older, 
means a whole heck of a lot.
