Same problem, same ride. I had him right on 64, went in and they took a
long time to get a number (could have taken it with a stethoscope faster)
and then it said 75. He hadn't been 75 in quite a few minutes. I could
imagine him being 68...but this seemed wrong. I didn't like them.
I've done pulses at rides before and had riders standing there looking
at their heart monitors ready to argue with me. I KNOW I know how to
take a pulse, and there they are all ready to argue and I say "56" and
they suddenly get a funny look on their face and say, "Oh, I had 62" or
something like that. I guess so long as ALL the pulse takers use them
it's not that big of a deal, other than it's a pill to have to leave the
vet area when you think your horse really was 64.
