Hah. This reminds me. Kim at redhorsetech.com (who receives several
gold stars for her efforts) has slooed over my Tevis 99 coverage in
it's entirety. You can peer at it at:

As well as all that good stuff, there is also a scintillating "photo

On this page, there is excruciating detail about the application
of Hoof Pak (silicon rubbery stuff you squirt onto the underside
of the horse's feet to act as pads), as well as Easy Boot and
Easy Foam application. Lots of pics, thumbnails, which you can 
click on for a clearer picture of what on earth is going on.

It's good stuff and should give you all the information you need on
whether it's worth a try, and how to do it if you do.
