wound treatment

HI, my young gelding has a small cut in the middle of his back.  Nothing
serious but hate to quit riding him for long.  Just wondering what to treat
it with so it heals fast.  My usual wound treatment is triple antibiotic
ointment covered with desitine.  Someone recommended a natural healing
substance called "silver".  Does anyone know anything about that?  Also
was thinking of using tea oil or vit e oil.  Was hoping ot ride him on a
ride in 3 weeks.  Maybe my orthoflex saddle will clear the sore and it
