I did and was refused. Told that everyone was going to get
checked with the heart rate monitor. That was only fair. I don't
understand what is
fair about that. Sounds to me that they think that the
stethoscope is lower and they did not want my horse to have the
advantage of a lower heart rate? If the hand held is so
accurate, then ride management should have no problem with a
rider having a choice of the stethoscope or the hand held. Right

In competitive, as far as I understand, if you ask for a recheck
you get docked 20 points. But I don't think LD or endurance is
like that.
