Fw: Connie Walker Reception
We got this and decided to forward it to Ridecamp,
knowing many of you are from New England and were
rooting for Connie. Hope you can make the parade!!
As you all know by now Connie Walker and Smoke
won the Gold at the Pan American Championship Endurance ride in Winnipeg
Manitoba.
We would like to invite you to a celebration of that
accomplishment.
WHERE
Plainfield NH (Plainfield village on Route
12A)
WHEN
Saturday August
28th
TIME
1:00 PM
The planned events are as
follows:
Parade
Beginning at 1:00
PM
Reception
Beginning at 2:00 PM
The parade will feature Connie and Smoke riding
through the village of Plainfield to the town hall (approx. 1/3 mile). The plan
is to have as many horses as we can ride with them. So you are invited to bring
your horse. Please note that this parade will not have the usual floats fire
trucks etc it will most likely have one police car at the head and then just
horses. If you cannot bring a horse please come and walk with
us.
Following the parade there will be a reception at the town hall. We
will have pictures, a video of the Pan Am ride plus a short
program.
The staging area will be at Bill Smiths Auction
Barn. This is a large gray building at the north end of the village on Route
12A. It has white board fence all around. There is a large open grass area in
front of the building where you can park cars and trailers. We plan to walk down
through the village and assemble at West Gate road and then walk back. The
reception will follow in the town hall. (the town hall is almost directly across
the road for the Auction Barn)
We plan on having punch and bake goods available
at the town hall. If you can bake something that could be shared, and bring it
along that would be very much appreciated.
Also I have a limited number of E-Mail addresses
for VERDA and the Hartland Riding Club so if you know of people I missed please
forward this message along. This is short notice and we are trying to make sure
everyone gets invited. Dick and Doug you must have a bunch of E-Mail addresses
or people can just pick up the phone.
Also if you are an HRC member please wear your tee shirt or
windbreaker, depending on the weather.
If anyone has questions you can contact me via
E-Mail or at (603) 675-5102
Hope to see you there.
