Melody- My first endurance horse was a pony-cross mare with the most extreme sickle hocks I have ever seen. When I took her to our first 30 miler, the vet said, "She did ok on this one, but I hope you don't plan to do 50 milers with this horse." Well I did--50's, 75's and at least one 1-day 100. When I retired her, she had accumulated 2000 AERC miles with only 1 pull. She was never a first place finisher, but a solid "middle of the pack" horse. "Sunday" taught me much about endurance before I got my Arabs, and she is now happily retired in my pasture at age 30.
