Re: When is it TOO hot?
> Back in the '70's, one of my horses sustained a leg injury on a ride near
Seattle, WA that rivalled the East Coast rides for heat and humidity
problems (107 degrees, and something like 80% humidity). We pulled at the
first vet check. Since this region has mostly desert rides and since at
that time not as much was known about heat, humidity, and veterinary
treatment of the horses in trouble, the ride really looked like a war zone.
Okay Heidi...you had me going for a second here! You mean the OTHER side
of the mountains!! Washington is like two different countries...and
referred to as The Dry Side and The Wet Side. I live on The Wet Side and I
don't think they've ever recorded a temp higher than 100 (The Dry Side has
a lot higher temps also) -- it rarely gets above 90 and when it does,
nobody knows what to do because very few people have AC! When I think
about riding in that type of weather, I just remember my 30 years in
Minnesota!
