RE: Sunburn and grass fungus
Hi Dale,
My sun sensitive (on the nose) Morab responded very well to a cattle teat
ointment called Thujo-zinc. It's available at most feed and dairy stores.
It also works on those bare patches on the belly where the gnats and flies
bite. She had grass (actually I think it was something in the clover in the
pasture) fungus that looked like little warts on her nose. They eventually
went away on their own and never came back, almost like she'd built an
immunity to them. If you're talking about the scruffy brown stuff on pink
nose skin from wet grass, the Thujo-zinc works on that too. Beware, it is
shocking pink, though!
