silicone
I've gotten several personal replies from people thinking of new uses for
silicone now. I would like to caution you. I don't think I'd leave it
on for extended periods because it creates an anaerobic environment which
can lead to trouble.
I have had 2 different horses come down with scratches...neither had ever
had it before or since...and it was from silicone being smeared across
their pastern area after it had squirted up from under pads. It
apparently created an anaerobic environment and we suddenly had scratches
where we had none before it was on there. When Nina used it, she put it
on only for the event.
