Culling all horses that are recessive carriers of CID carriers also
culls all the desirable traits they may carry as well. Is anyone
willing to state and stand behind the notion that CID is so bad (even as
a recessive) that we can afford to lose that percentage of the Arabian
gene pool forever? Seems pretty drastic to me, especially when science
is so relatively close to being able to make genetic corrections. Lif
