re: removing numbers from horse
Come on y'all...leave the number on and let it fade naturally.
People think
you got that old skinny horse from the sale barn and look at you
like you are
crazy :-))) It sure is fun to see the expressions and hear the
comments
Several years ago while getting things ready for the TEXAS BLUEBONNET
CLASSIC, I had forgotten to order marking sticks, so went to the local feed
store in Wortham to see if they had a box. The owner who thinks marking
sticks are only used at a sale barn, looked at me with surprise. "What are
you going to do with those things he asked?" He knows I don't own any cows.
"I'm going to mark numbers on some horses," I replied. "Oh no man, you don't
have to do that", he said, "when you get them over to Calhoon (local
killers) they put the numbers on for you." We had a good laugh on that one
and they still don't understand endurance in Wortham.
